York Food Festival
York Food Festival run events through the year celebrating local and regional food and drink, with a Chocolate Festival and 10-day festival at the end of September. It is now a hugely popular attracting over 400,000 people!
Established in 1997, York Food Festival is a not-for-profit organisation celebrating local food and drink, culture and community across York city centre.
Building on York’s history as a chocolate city and historic market, the festival’s diverse programme has been designed to educate, inspire and bring people together to share in the city’s vibrant culinary culture.
The York Food Festival also run a Schools Programme, which invites York primary schools to attend workshops and demonstrations from local producers and chefs. Attracting over 700 students each year, students learn all about eating healthy, homemade and locally sourced food.
Any money generated from ticket sales goes back into the festival to improve it year after year.
